Family Tech Nights (FTN)

Family Tech Nights are an opportunity for the youth to showcase to their family, peers, staff, and school community the work that they completed during the unit. They take careful preparation. Facilitators allocate one session for preparing for FTN and one session for the actual event.

Tips

  • Gather youth projects to give you an idea of what is complete and what needs to be finished from the unit in order to display them for FTN.
  • Make sure the youth take a leadership role in the planning and the night itself. (Example: Have youth lead a short lesson with their guests and families.)
  • Make the night creative, interactive and fun for the youth.
  • Secure a space for FTN that will accommodate the displays and guests.
See Unit 1, Weeks 9&10 (pdf, 1.2 MB) for the details on how to prepare and host a FTN.
